Jacinto Erramun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Ospin having to interfere. When Saturnino Cai fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Madariaga's protests and gave Saturnino Cai a yellow card for diving instead. Saturnino Cai kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. German Astudillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. German Ospin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvestre Chano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Osvaldo Lehen. Nimbus 2000's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Osvaldo Lehen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Miliano in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Miliano in the 23rd minute of play forced Nimbus 2000's goalkeeper Osvaldo Lehen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Nimbus 2000's Jacinto Erramun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that German Ospin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 28th minute when German Astudillo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 33rd minute German Astudillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Ospin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atletico Madariaga's Florencio Ilazki got a free kick in the 37th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Atletico Madariaga's Severo Miliano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldo Lehen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Severo Miliano put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Osvaldo Lehen. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

German Ospin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 60 played minutes Atletico Madariaga got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Chano. If German Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. German Ospin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Astudillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute Jacinto Erramun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Ospin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jacinto Erramun came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Nimbus 2000 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Erramun couldn't finish the play. Cristo Llorenc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Osvaldo Lehen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristo Llorenc might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldo Lehen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristo Llorenc ran back to his position shaking his head. Nimbus 2000's Osvaldo Lehen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Miliano in the 81st minute of play. Jacinto Erramun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Atletico Madariaga defense, Jacinto Erramun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of German Ospin. The Atletico Madariaga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that German Ospin should have stopped the shot. German Ospin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Astudillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. During the 95th minute of the match Saturnino Cai completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Saturnino Cai a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Atletico Madariaga's Saturnino Cai got a free kick in the 96th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Erramun in the 99th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg German Ospin saved Atletico Madariaga from getting behind.
