Spectators: 6666 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 10) Lagunilla AFC's Ciro Gomesano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Grupo Universitario's Nestor Vela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Grupo Universitario from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Dorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Vellito having to interfere. In the 8th minute Ciro Gomesano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Vela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Vela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Gomesano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Gomesano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Vela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Nestor Vela came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Lagunilla AFC's Florencio Playo. But to his dismay, Florencio Playo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Rigoberto Egun put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Emilio Vellito. In the 28th minute, Eliseo Dorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rigoberto Egun might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Vellito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rigoberto Egun ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Lagunilla AFC's Alejo Bastiaro got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Rigoberto Egun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Dorio might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Vellito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Dorio ran back to his position shaking his head. Emilio Vellito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Caton in the 46th minute of the match. Lagunilla AFC's Emilio Vellito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Egun in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rigoberto Egun to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Egun in the 53rd minute of play forced Lagunilla AFC's goalkeeper Emilio Vellito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rigoberto Egun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Grupo Universitario's zone, Florencio Playo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Vela came out of the goal and Florencio Playo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Lagunilla AFC's Javier Gaitano got a free kick in the 67th minute. Rigoberto Egun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Vellito having to interfere. Florencio Playo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st match minute, Grupo Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Claris to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Dorio had several of the Lagunilla AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Emilio Vellito as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Lagunilla AFC's Emilio Vellito got control of the ball when Eliseo Dorio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grupo Universitario's Nestor Vela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Playo in the 88th minute of play. Nestor Vela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Americo Fagondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
