The audience was convinced that Rigoberto Egun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felix Urko was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Nestor Vela was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the game, Nemesio Claris was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grupo Universitario's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lomitas the free kick. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grupo Universitario's goalkeeper Nestor Vela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nestor Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Leheren, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th match minute, Grupo Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergio Caton to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Leheren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Vela having to interfere. Lomitas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
