Hermengildo Perpinya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Fagondo having to interfere. Arnaldo Celino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Avellaneda having to interfere. Hermengildo Perpinya struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Edgardo Fagondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Borrachians. Jeronimo Nel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Avellaneda having to make a save. In the 20th minute Jeronimo Nel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Avellaneda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Orland, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Mateo Jatsu hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Old Borrachians's Carlos Avellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Nel in the 24th minute of play. Ernesto Orland took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Avellaneda. Carlos Avellaneda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Carlos Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Checa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Perpinya in the 38th minute of play forced Zapallar AFC's goalkeeper Edgardo Fagondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Jurdan struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Edgardo Fagondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Borrachians. Old Borrachians's Carlos Avellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Nel in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Jeronimo Nel made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Avellaneda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeronimo Nel's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Edgardo Fagondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Ibañez in the 54th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Orland got free with Carlos Avellaneda in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermengildo Perpinya in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgardo Fagondo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hermengildo Perpinya might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgardo Fagondo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hermengildo Perpinya ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Silbestre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zapallar AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Old Borrachians the free kick. In the 73rd minute of the match Fabricio Hever shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgardo Fagondo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 77th minute, Ernesto Orland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Avellaneda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ernesto Orland came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carlos Avellaneda could save by the left post. A collision led to Zapallar AFC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Osvaldo Silbestre hit a great ball. If Hermengildo Perpinya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zapallar AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
