In the 20th minute Gaudencio Quintana suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Vinicio Sal hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Lisandro Nayely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Blas Savion came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Maltide fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blas Savion couldn't finish the play. If Blas Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Maltide booed when Guernica AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Bembe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustaquio Lugo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Caitano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After 48 minutes Guernica AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erubiel Esiquio who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Mauro Millrick got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. In the 65th minute, Blas Savion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustaquio Lugo in the 68th minute of play forced Guernica AFC's goalkeeper Martin Caitano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Caitano made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Blas Savion sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute, Blas Savion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
