Samuel Abalos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Serafino Haritz managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Maquinita's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafino Haritz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Nevada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of La Maquinita booed when C.A. Millonarios del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Ramond didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, La Maquinita's Gaspar Mendiko tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Abalos in the 24th minute of play forced C.A. Millonarios del Sur's goalkeeper Aquilino Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Cosme Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Armando Maraman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nereo Gomez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Bertol in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nereo Gomez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Abalos in the 34th minute of play forced C.A. Millonarios del Sur's goalkeeper Aquilino Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A. Millonarios del Sur's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marco Lapurdi in the 43rd minute. After taking down the ball on C.A. Millonarios del Sur's corner Marco Lapurdi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nereo Gomez quite easily take care of the ball. In the 44th minute Alberto Bertol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nereo Gomez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Abalos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Alberto Bertol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nereo Gomez. La Maquinita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Bertol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute of the match, Alberto Bertol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nereo Gomez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Millonarios del Sur's zone, Samuel Abalos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Nevada came out of the goal and Samuel Abalos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafino Haritz in the 61st minute of play forced C.A. Millonarios del Sur's goalkeeper Aquilino Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Cosme Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nereo Gomez made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Armando Maraman sent off a good shot on target. 73 minutes into the game, Samuel Abalos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Aquilino Nevada was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Armando Maraman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nereo Gomez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, La Maquinita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas Ferdinand to maneuver through the defense. After 80 played minutes C.A. Millonarios del Sur's Armando Maraman stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Nereo Gomez stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing La Maquinita of the goal. Armando Maraman struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Nereo Gomez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Millonarios del Sur. In the 89th minute, Armando Maraman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the game, Cosme Loren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Maquinita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. Millonarios del Sur the free kick. After 93 played minutes La Maquinita got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Loren. The audience was convinced that Alberto Bertol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nereo Gomez was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Aquilino Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafino Haritz, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
