The Gavilandia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eleuterio Alonso should have stopped the shot. Patrick Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Eleuterio Alonso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Madero Harbour's Fabio Darien got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baltasar Haritz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Paulino Eutropio made a huge save. Paulino Eutropio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodosio Sabino in the 29th minute. A collision led to Gavilandia getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Baltasar Haritz hit a great ball. Eleuterio Alonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Paraibano in the 37th minute of play. Patrick Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Alonso having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wesley do Vale was the one to do the kick off. When Filiberto Nesor fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gavilandia's protests and gave Filiberto Nesor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Filiberto Nesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Patrick Paraibano notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Gavilandia's Eleuterio Alonso. Eleuterio Alonso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eleuterio Alonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Darien in the 76th minute of the match. With a little luck, Gavilandia's Eleuterio Alonso got control of the ball when Patrick Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulino Pudes during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gavilandia's Eleuterio Alonso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Gavilandia from getting a goal against them.
