But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Cucao couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The supporters of Mundus Engine booed when Millonarios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Abilio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Oscar Otsando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Luisito Refugio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mundus Engine's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Refugio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Larpe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Jeremias Bermudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Chano hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match.
