Geronimo Efraim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomas Tonete. Capilla del Monte's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tomas Tonete was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zeledon Emenon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. A collision led to Capilla del Monte getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Elvio Raitin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Millonarios FC's zone, Atilano Asier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Larpe came out of the goal and Atilano Asier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rigoberto Ortle's late challenge caught a Capilla del Monte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Ortle helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, Amadeo Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Capilla del Monte getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Atilano Asier hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

If Serafin Harriet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mario Osasun took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Larpe. Haroldo Larpe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Elvio Raitin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Haroldo Larpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zeledon Emenon struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Tomas Tonete didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millonarios FC. After 68 played minutes Capilla del Monte got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Asier. Oscar Otsando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomas Tonete having to make a save. If Mario Osasun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Mario Osasun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Serafin Harriet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Millonarios FC's Haroldo Larpe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Asier in the 90th minute of play. Haroldo Larpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Osasun, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After a rather tough play, Capilla del Monte's Filiberto Gai got a free kick in the 95th minute. Tomas Tonete stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Otsando's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Capilla del Monte's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
