In the 19thth minute of the game Niceto Millan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Estudiantes's Artemio Stephen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. German Jerardo's late challenge caught a Atlético Estudiantes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Jerardo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atlético Estudiantes booed when Club A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Jerardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cornelio Millrick was a little too slow when Arsenio Maldonado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. After a rather tough play, Atlético Estudiantes's Placido Fagondo got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Gavino Lucila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. Atlético Estudiantes's Artemio Stephen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Millan in the 76th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niceto Millan in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Stephen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Atlético Estudiantes booed when Club A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Celino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cornelio Millrick came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Estudiantes's Arsenio Maldonado. But to his dismay, Arsenio Maldonado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.
