After a rather tough play, Atlético Estudiantes's Nicolas Serafo got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Gervasio Jokin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Stephen skillfully saved the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Nicolas Serafo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Estudiantes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pies Ligeros the free kick. Nicolas Serafo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Agustin Leobardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Artemio Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Pacho in the 14th minute of the match. After 15 played minutes Atlético Estudiantes got a freekick which was hit by Ulises Elija. Placido Fagondo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Estudiantes's zone, Silverio Mikelats stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artemio Stephen came out of the goal and Silverio Mikelats tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Pies Ligeros booed when Atlético Estudiantes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Fagondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pies Ligeros's Delmar Hermon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Maldonado in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Celio in the 32nd minute of play forced Pies Ligeros's goalkeeper Delmar Hermon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 34 minutes on the clock, Desiderio Carlomagno commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlético Estudiantes! Atlético Estudiantes:s Artemio Stephen showed great skill when he stopped Gervasio Jokin:s penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Jeremias Pacho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pies Ligeros's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Pacho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artemio Stephen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Atlético Estudiantes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pies Ligeros the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Orlando Hunfredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute of the match Gervasio Jokin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Stephen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Pacho in the 69th minute of play forced Atlético Estudiantes's goalkeeper Artemio Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Silverio Mikelats made a precise shot to the right of Artemio Stephen. Atlético Estudiantes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 74th minute Jeremias Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramon Celio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delmar Hermon having to make a save. Artemio Stephen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Pacho in the 82nd minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Pies Ligeros's Silverio Mikelats nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Artemio Stephen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Pies Ligeros's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
