When Sergio Abaurre came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Sarandí FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Abaurre couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Berazategui's Siro Cordara got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Urbano Cristos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Urbano Cristos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Quinteros's late challenge caught a Sarandí FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Quinteros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, Berazategui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Quinteros to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Lope scored 0-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iwan Zabrzeski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergio Abaurre made a kick off. After 57 minutes, Alvaro Ezkerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarandí FC and the Berazategui players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Sarandí FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Ezkerra to maneuver through the defense. Sarandí FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Berazategui the free kick. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sarandí FC! Urbano Cristos took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fulgencio Jokin. Fulgencio Jokin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergio Abaurre in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fulgencio Jokin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sergio Abaurre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fulgencio Jokin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sarandí FC's Sergio Abaurre got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Sergio Abaurre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fulgencio Jokin. Berazategui's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Abaurre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The supporters of Berazategui booed when Sarandí FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquiles Aballe didn't get a good kick on the ball.
