In the 26th minute, Fabricio Pacorro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute, CA Defensores Nacionales's Rolando Patxi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rolando Patxi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CA Defensores Nacionales protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rolando Patxi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 30 minutes into the game, one of CA Defensores Nacionales:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Isaias Herensuge managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Defensores Nacionales's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Desiderio Laffitte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. CA Defensores Nacionales's attentive Isaias Herensuge managed to snatch the ball when Fernando Lehoi made a throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game. After having played for 82 minutes, Isaias Herensuge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Defensores Nacionales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Herensuge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
