A collision led to Boquerón getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Adolfo Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute, Adolfo Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Froylan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Gartzea in the 12th minute. Godfredo Gartzea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Boquerón's Severino Shantala got a free kick in the 20th minute. Desiderio Laffitte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Froylan having to interfere. Desiderio Laffitte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jaime Froylan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desiderio Laffitte in the 32nd minute of play. Godfredo Gartzea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Jaime Froylan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 38 minutes, Desiderio Laffitte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tócota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desiderio Laffitte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Godfredo Gartzea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ambrosio Colon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 73rd minute, Julio Elizardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Marcial Rayman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boquerón's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Rayman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustino Cuarto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Tócota's Faustino Cuarto got control of the ball when Ambrosio Colon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Godfredo Gartzea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaime Froylan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play.
