Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Clodoveo Quentin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gilberto Sidro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Frutos in the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Mencué was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Ostargi to maneuver through the defense. Santo Laurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastian Burni's late challenge caught a Diablos Rojos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Burni helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Mencué was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Burni to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Veronica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Laurin, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Santo Laurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Mencué's Santo Laurin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manuel Veronica. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Arturo Teofilio struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Manuel Veronica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mencué. Arturo Teofilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Diablos Rojos's Albano Sal got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Albano Sal hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. If Clodoveo Quentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Maximo Frutos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santo Laurin was the one to do the kick off. Gilberto Sidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Lizer in the 52nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucio Jaunzuria during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 52 minutes into the game, one of Mencué:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Diablos Rojos's Maximo Frutos got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clodoveo Quentin during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clodoveo Quentin hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. If Arturo Teofilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arturo Teofilio fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mencué's protests and gave Arturo Teofilio a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Maximo Frutos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximo Frutos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Lizer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Sidro having to interfere. When Maximo Frutos came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Diablos Rojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Frutos couldn't finish the play. Santo Laurin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Manuel Veronica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Diablos Rojos's Francisco Lizer got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Arturo Teofilio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Veronica. Diablos Rojos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Teofilio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 91 minutes into the match, Mencué's Arturo Teofilio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Veronica narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Veronica didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santo Laurin went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the Diablos Rojos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mencué.
