In the 15th minute, Luisito Vito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chachapoyas AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 23 minutes in the game, Adolfo Quintan dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Adolfo Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tortuguitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Chachapoyas AFC's zone, Isidoro Mouricio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorino Gasteiz came out of the goal and Isidoro Mouricio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victorino Gasteiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Quintan, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After the first half Chachapoyas AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adolfo Quintan was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Tortuguitas's Isidoro Mouricio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victorino Gasteiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.
