Spectators: 7240 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vicente Naike got the match started through his kick off. Cayetano Piarres came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Elena's Vicente Naike. But to his dismay, Vicente Naike quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 6th minute, Amado Vermudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vicente Naike came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Elena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Naike couldn't finish the play. If Aureliano Telmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elena's Albino Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Elena from getting a goal against them. Ariel Foro kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Ulises Jakes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Lino Eudoxio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Mendez having to interfere. Aureliano Telmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albino Mendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Eudoxio in the 29th minute of the match. Elena's Vicente Naike got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Elena's zone, Aureliano Telmo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Mendez came out of the goal and Aureliano Telmo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Aureliano Telmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celso Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cayetano Piarres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lino Eudoxio made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Aureliano Telmo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ironmass's supporters rose to their feet, but Aureliano Telmo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albino Mendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55th minute of the match Ironmass got a corner. Elena's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ulises Jakes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Elena's goalie and right to Amado Vermudo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Elena's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aureliano Telmo in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albino Mendez saved Elena from getting behind. Albino Mendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Telmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Vicente Naike struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Cayetano Piarres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elena. If Lino Eudoxio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Telmo in the 72nd minute of play forced Elena's goalkeeper Albino Mendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Lino Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes, Ramiro Quilo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ironmass and the Elena players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ironmass! In the 79th minute there was a penalty for Elena. Ariel Foro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cayetano Piarres. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Elena's Aristides Lertxun got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After 87 minutes of play, Ironmass's Lino Eudoxio made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albino Mendez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd minute Lino Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vicente Naike did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Cayetano Piarres 98 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Elena eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
