The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albino Mendez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Siro Rozarius in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albino Mendez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Luciano Sabin came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the El Tifón de Boyacá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Sabin couldn't finish the play. Siro Rozarius struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Albino Mendez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Tifón de Boyacá. Dario Asteri scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Albino Mendez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Eleuterio Enekoitz fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elena's protests and gave Eleuterio Enekoitz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Elena getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Eleuterio Enekoitz hit a great ball. Edelmiro Ralondo's late challenge caught a El Tifón de Boyacá's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edelmiro Ralondo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of El Tifón de Boyacá booed when Elena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Ralondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, El Tifón de Boyacá's David Gilesindo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albino Mendez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Tifón de Boyacá reached it. Siro Rozarius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Mendez having to interfere. Elena's Albino Mendez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albino Basajaun in the 46th minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Albino Basajaun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elena's Albino Mendez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half El Tifón de Boyacá were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Albino Basajaun made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, El Tifón de Boyacá's Marcelo Euloxu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Albino Mendez. Albino Mendez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 61st minute, Santo Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elena's Albino Mendez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Asteri in the 63rd minute of play. After 67 minutes, Albino Basajaun made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Elena's Albino Mendez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Albino Basajaun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albino Basajaun took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albino Mendez. Albino Mendez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. In the 76th minute, Siro Rozarius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Albino Basajaun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Albino Basajaun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo Erramun hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, El Tifón de Boyacá's Dario Asteri dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9.
