The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Elena! Ruperto Quintin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Mateo in the 15th minute of play. Raimundo Lopez hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Elena's Albino Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Elena from getting a goal against them. Ruperto Quintin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Mateo in the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Elena defense, Jose Confesor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albino Mendez. The Elena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albino Mendez should have stopped the shot. Ruben Ermengols short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Albino Mendez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Tocineros's zone, Celso Mateo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Quintin came out of the goal and Celso Mateo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Tocineros's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Mateo came free, but Ruperto Quintin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jose Confesor hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Tocineros got a freekick which was hit by Blas Arlo. Celso Mateo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celso Mateo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Raimundo Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elena's Albino Mendez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Lopez in the 61st minute of play. Ruperto Quintin came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Elena's Sixto Manilan. But to his dismay, Sixto Manilan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Celso Mateo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruperto Quintin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. When Tocineros's Raimundo Lopez in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elena's goalie prevented a goal. Celso Mateo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Ruperto Quintin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elena. In the 89th play minute Celso Mateo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ruperto Quintin. 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruben Ermengol in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albino Mendez saved Elena from getting behind. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
