But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Huly couldn't finish the play. Damaso Romo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albino Mendez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Aston Birra's Damaso Romo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albino Mendez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Damaso Romo came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Aston Birra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Romo couldn't finish the play. Cristian Huly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albino Mendez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Albino Mendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Huly in the 35th minute of play. Damaso Romo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Albino Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Elena got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Enekoitz. After 40 played minutes, Aston Birra's Bonifacio Sarracino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albino Mendez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aston Birra reached it. After having played for 45 minutes, Cristian Huly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aston Birra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Huly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albino Mendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Huly, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Naike made a kick off. After 61 played minutes, Aston Birra's Bonifacio Sarracino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albino Mendez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aston Birra reached it. In the 63rd minute, Cristian Huly left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aston Birra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. A collision led to Elena getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Aristides Lertxun hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Elena's Celso Mateo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cirilo Fraco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Albino Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Aston Birra could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Elena throughout the match.
