Aristides Lertxun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Iliana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. When Leonides Tino fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Urraca's protests and gave Leonides Tino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Urraca getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Leonides Tino hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Saturnino Gonzales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celso Mateo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Iliana having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Elena's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Franco came free, but Albino Mendez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Saturnino Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albino Mendez made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Saturnino Gonzales sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Franco made a kick off. Albino Mendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Franco in the 57th minute of play. Eleuterio Enekoitz charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eleuterio Enekoitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
