When Nicasio Santana fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Masia de Avellaneda's protests and gave Nicasio Santana a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes La Masia de Avellaneda got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Santana. If Gonzalo Froylan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gonzalo Froylan came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the CA San Martín de Tucumán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Froylan couldn't finish the play. Fidel Elequemedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignacio Gorbea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltasar Pedroso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When Jimeno Curcio came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the CA San Martín de Tucumán fans jumped to their feet. Baltasar Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Gorbea in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th match minute, CA San Martín de Tucumán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Leoiar to maneuver through the defense. After 89 played minutes CA San Martín de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Abastas. Tiburcio Orlanda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baltasar Pedroso. CA San Martín de Tucumán's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Feliciano Marko kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The La Masia de Avellaneda fans cheered their team off the field, for while CA San Martín de Tucumán had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
