After a defensive mix-up in Robles's zone, Jimeno Curcio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zacarias Cordarin came out of the goal and Jimeno Curcio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gonzalo Froylan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzalo Froylan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Cordarin having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Jimeno Curcio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Cordarin. Robles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jimeno Curcio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Celso Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Nicholas in the 43rd minute of play forced CA San Martín de Tucumán's goalkeeper Baltasar Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Saturnin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Baltasar Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Celso Saturnin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Froylan to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Jimeno Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA San Martín de Tucumán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Curcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltasar Pedroso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Nicholas, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind CA San Martín de Tucumán's goalkeeper Baltasar Pedroso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Domingos Nicholas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltasar Pedroso having to interfere. Zacarias Cordarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Froylan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute Celso Saturnin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Pedroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltasar Pedroso came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Robles's Celso Saturnin. But to his dismay, Celso Saturnin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Gonzalo Froylan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
