When Julio Kaxen fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A Picadillis's protests and gave Julio Kaxen a yellow card for diving instead. Julio Kaxen hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Jimeno Curcio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Anastasio Fortun made a huge save. A collision led to C.A Picadillis getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Donato Gaitano hit a great ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A Picadillis's goalkeeper Anastasio Fortun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Bilintx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Baltasar Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Elias Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltasar Pedroso was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 55thth minute of the game Gonzalo Froylan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A Picadillis's Anastasio Fortun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in C.A Picadillis's zone, Gonzalo Froylan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anastasio Fortun came out of the goal and Gonzalo Froylan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Fermin Iturri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardino Rey during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for C.A Picadillis. Cipriano Mantzio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Baltasar Pedroso. 1-2. If Jimeno Curcio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 70th minute of the match Julio Kaxen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Julio Kaxen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Julio Kaxen hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The CA San Martín de Tucumán fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when CA San Martín de Tucumán's Gonzalo Froylan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Anastasio Fortun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Curcio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 84 minutes, Gonzalo Froylan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA San Martín de Tucumán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonzalo Froylan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
