Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Maidana in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Natalio Ado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 11 minutes, Roman Tolino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RIVER PLATE and the Pericote FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roman Tolino hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 12 minutes in the game, Ubaldo Maidana dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Pericote FC's Ubaldo Maidana in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Raimundo Franco might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Natalio Ado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo Franco ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the RIVER PLATE defense, Ubaldo Maidana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Natalio Ado. The RIVER PLATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Natalio Ado should have stopped the shot. With his leg Zeledon Ranolfo managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when RIVER PLATE's Aurelio Rio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Franco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cecilio Astudillo charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cecilio Astudillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pericote FC's Raimundo Franco got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Octavio Eguen hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Raimundo Franco fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Horado in the 82nd minute of play forced Pericote FC's goalkeeper Zeledon Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeledon Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Rio in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the RIVER PLATE defense, Ubaldo Maidana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Natalio Ado. The RIVER PLATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Natalio Ado should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute Raimundo Franco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Ado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Tolino kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Raimundo Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Ado having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Natalio Ado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ubaldo Maidana. The RIVER PLATE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pericote FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
