But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Furtado couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnoldo Anaya during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th minute, Arnoldo Anaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Nestor Matei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Matei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Americo Frederico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Centro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Furtado came free, but Dalmacio Walme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Edelmiro Pacifico fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Centro FC's protests and gave Edelmiro Pacifico a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Atletico Rafaela booed when Centro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Pacifico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Freddy Mogel sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Centro FC's Dalmacio Walme didn't even have to move. Dionisio Baumar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Astor Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmacio Walme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Americo Frederico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Matei in the 39th minute of play. When Alberto Clodio fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Rafaela's protests and gave Alberto Clodio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Alberto Clodio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nestor Matei spun around in front of the goal 41 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Atletico Rafaela's goal. After having played for 43 minutes, Marcelo Diaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Centro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Diaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Astor Furtado to make the kick off. Nestor Matei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Americo Frederico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Astor Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Walme having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Matei in the 66th minute of play forced Atletico Rafaela's goalkeeper Americo Frederico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atletico Rafaela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Marcelo Diaz scored to the left of an out of position Americo Frederico, making the score, 1-1. In the 71st match minute, Centro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Diaz to maneuver through the defense. If Anselmo Chumo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Americo Frederico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Matei, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Nestor Matei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
