Filiberto Cordarryl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Atilano Iraido made a huge save. The supporters of Benítez booed when Salsedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Jerrald didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Salsedo got a freekick which was hit by Rene Jerrald. Guido Liher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Joaquin Veremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Guido Liher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guido Liher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guido Liher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Veremundo having to interfere. If Rene Jerrald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Rene Jerrald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salsedo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Jerrald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Guido Liher made the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Veremundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Liher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atilano Iraido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Cordarryl, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Jeremias Gai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Joaquin Veremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Filiberto Cordarryl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benítez's supporters rose to their feet, but Filiberto Cordarryl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Atilano Iraido breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baldomiro Farias kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Eustacio Fernendo, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Benítez's Joaquin Veremundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Liher in the 71st minute of play. Filiberto Cordarryl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st match minute, Salsedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Brion to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Salsedo's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Eneas came free, but Atilano Iraido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filiberto Cordarryl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Iraido having to interfere. Joaquin Veremundo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Guido Liher showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 91 minute of play. Despite being the better team, Salsedo failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
