The audience was convinced that Mario Foro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ubaldo Geofredo was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Mario Foro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Geofredo having to interfere. Congreso's Ubaldo Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Foro in the 28th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonatan Arias during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes Newfire F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Arias. Jeronimo Urtun charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeronimo Urtun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st match minute, Congreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeronimo Urtun to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Venerando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario Foro in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ubaldo Geofredo saved Congreso from getting behind. Flavio Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Geofredo having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Congreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Gaizkine to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Venerando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ubaldo Geofredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Congreso's zone, Mario Foro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Geofredo came out of the goal and Mario Foro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Congreso's Jeronimo Urtun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justo Elija narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Foro made a kick off. Newfire F.C's Mario Foro got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Newfire F.C's attentive Justo Tanio managed to snatch the ball when Ceferino Handi made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. Mario Foro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ubaldo Geofredo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erubiel Remigio got free with Ubaldo Geofredo in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The long shot by Erubiel Remigio in the 67th minute really tested Ubaldo Geofredo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Foro got free with Ubaldo Geofredo in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Congreso's Ubaldo Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Venerando in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Jeronimo Urtun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Congreso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeronimo Urtun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Mario Foro sped through Congreso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ubaldo Geofredo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonatan Arias got free with Ubaldo Geofredo in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Mario Foro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erubiel Remigio kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Newfire F.C's Faustino Venerando got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Mario Foro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Justo Tanio came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Newfire F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justo Tanio couldn't finish the play.
