Santo Chorache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ubaldo Geofredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Independiente rey d copas got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Frisco. 33 minutes into the game, Horacio Jerrald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ezequiel Ekain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Santo Chorache managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente rey d copas's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Chorache was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Geofredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Ramon Havier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeronimo Urtun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jeronimo Urtun who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Ezequiel Ekain when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Jeronimo Urtun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Geofredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Chorache in the 70th minute of the match. After 70 minutes, Ramon Havier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Congreso and the Independiente rey d copas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Congreso's Ramon Havier got a free kick in the 70th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Independiente rey d copas's goalkeeper Ezequiel Ekain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeronimo Urtun. After having played for 81 minutes, Serafino Chayo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente rey d copas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafino Chayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente rey d copas's zone, Horacio Jerrald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Ekain came out of the goal and Horacio Jerrald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Horacio Jerrald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Independiente rey d copas getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Fernando Frisco hit a great ball.
