The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Niguel got free with Humberto Rolado in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Rolado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Felipo, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Gaspar Gabon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adan Ledesma's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Eugenio Marz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gaspar Gabon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Adan Ledesma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Monsalvo AFC's zone, Eugenio Marz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Gabon came out of the goal and Eugenio Marz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Douglas Haig's Humberto Rolado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Felipo in the 22nd minute of play. When Victorino Rioja fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monsalvo AFC's protests and gave Victorino Rioja a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Douglas Haig booed when Monsalvo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adan Ledesma in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaspar Gabon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute, Eugenio Marz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot by Severo Ritchie from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Humberto Rolado's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.

Arturo Felipo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celedonio Quilino charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celedonio Quilino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute of the match Leopoldo Natal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaspar Gabon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Adan Ledesma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monsalvo AFC's Gaspar Gabon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Douglas Haig's Arsenio Raebert got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Arturo Felipo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Valentin Niguel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monsalvo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Niguel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Rolado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Niguel in the 87th minute of the match. Christian Gaueko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Humberto Rolado. Douglas Haig's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, Douglas Haig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugenio Marz to maneuver through the defense.
