The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Horacio Maurin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Telma Darthes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Horacio Maurin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saul Esquipula breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jimeno Derwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Saul Esquipula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horacio Maurin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Esquipula having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Pascual Guifre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Telma Darthes FC the free kick. Horacio Maurin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Saul Esquipula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Abel Madaleno fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's protests and gave Abel Madaleno a yellow card for diving instead. Abel Madaleno kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's zone, Jimeno Derwin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saul Esquipula came out of the goal and Jimeno Derwin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saul Esquipula made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horacio Maurin in the 33rd minute. If Jimeno Derwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Maurin got free with Saul Esquipula in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Horacio Maurin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Saul Esquipula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubaldo Ruy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horacio Ofelio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ladislao Roano to strike the kick off in the second half. Jacinto Lordi came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Horacio Ofelio could save by the left post. If Jimeno Derwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Jacinto Lordi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horacio Ofelio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jimeno Derwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horacio Maurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gimnasia y Esgrima LP booed when Telma Darthes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Garaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ladislao Roano might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horacio Ofelio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ladislao Roano ran back to his position shaking his head. Horacio Ofelio made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jacinto Lordi sent off a good shot on target. Eriberto Eutor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Saul Esquipula. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Telma Darthes FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
