Ladislao Roano kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Saul Esquipula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Suarez in the 17th minute of play. Jorge Ospetsu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Saul Esquipula tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Silvio Suarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21stth minute of the game Amado Precioso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Saul Esquipula was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Gerardo Gombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Esquipula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Amado Precioso made a precise shot to the right of Saul Esquipula. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 30th minute, Jacinto Lordi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gimnasia y Esgrima LP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Amado Precioso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Esquipula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Ospetsu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-2 became the score in the 46th minute when Amado Precioso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Saul Esquipula was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Amado Precioso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amado Precioso really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. A collision led to Gimnasia y Esgrima LP getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Pascual Guifre hit a great ball. Amado Precioso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61stth minute of the game Amado Precioso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Saul Esquipula was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Reynardo scored 2-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Esquipula, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacinto Lordi during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Patagones booed when Gimnasia y Esgrima LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Lordi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Saul Esquipula got control of the ball when Jorge Ospetsu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 79 played minutes Patagones got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Bidari. After a defensive mix-up in Patagones's zone, Ladislao Roano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Elixio came out of the goal and Ladislao Roano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerardo Gombal got free with Saul Esquipula in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute, Amado Precioso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Saul Esquipula, passed just outside the right post. Gerardo Gombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 minutes, Silvio Suarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Patagones and the Gimnasia y Esgrima LP players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 96 played minutes Patagones got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Suarez. The Gimnasia y Esgrima LP fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Patagones were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
