The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Florentino Avellaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tadeo Baumar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Geronimo Liher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosario es de Central 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave lf4 the free kick. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rosario es de Central ! Rosario es de Central :s Ricardo Tonete showed great skill when he stopped Matias Gimenez:s penalty. Ricardo Tonete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Aznaro in the 40th minute of play. Segundo Aznaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Tonete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Elizardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gogo Telmo to make the kick off. Segundo Aznaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ricardo Tonete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Aznaro in the 64th minute of play forced Rosario es de Central 's goalkeeper Ricardo Tonete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Gogo Telmo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angel Mercurio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Telmo in the 91st minute of the match. When Gogo Telmo came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Rosario es de Central fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Telmo couldn't finish the play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
