With a little luck, Villa Mitre City's Cristian Mendebal got control of the ball when Joel Odol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Mendebal made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Joel Odol sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th match minute, Defensores del Tano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Abechuco to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the game, David Ezkerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Mitre City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensores del Tano the free kick. 22 minutes into the game, Rogelio Argi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ruben Furman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eustacio Abechuco kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Cristian Mendebal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvio Haimar in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Defensores del Tano's goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Colas came free, but Ruben Furman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Candido Normando had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Mendebal. Villa Mitre City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Candido Normando was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Silvio Haimar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cristian Mendebal came out and tried to block the shot, but Silvio Haimar slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Rogelio Argi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Mitre City's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Argi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Furman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Odol to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre City's Ermegildo Inautzi got a free kick in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Mitre City's zone, Silvio Haimar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Mendebal came out of the goal and Silvio Haimar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Mendebal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvio Haimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, Defensores del Tano's Ruben Furman got control of the ball when Hermengildo Colas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ruben Furman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Inautzi in the 70th minute of play. Ruben Furman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Ezkerra in the 76th minute of the match. Felix Roldan's late challenge caught a Defensores del Tano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Roldan helped the player get up and apologised. After 78 played minutes Villa Mitre City got a freekick which was hit by Felix Roldan. Defensores del Tano's Fidel Cambranes was substituted for Joel Odol. The supporters of Defensores del Tano booed when Villa Mitre City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Roldan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Villa Mitre City's Cristian Mendebal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Haimar in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Silvio Haimar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Mendebal. Villa Mitre City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvio Haimar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Silvio Haimar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santiago Enaut lost his temper 97 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 98th minute, Santiago Enaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Villa Mitre City's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Villa Mitre City may have spent more time on the ball, but Defensores del Tano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
