In the 3rd minute, Julio Salvidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Todor who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of German Platon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind INDEPENDIENTE F.C's goalkeeper Moises Maju, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE F.C's Arnaldo Emenon got a free kick in the 8th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Naelio in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moises Maju prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Todor got free with German Platon in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the INDEPENDIENTE F.C defense, Gustavo Naelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moises Maju. The INDEPENDIENTE F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moises Maju should have stopped the shot. Ricardo Todor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but German Platon made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, Bazan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Todor came free, but German Platon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to INDEPENDIENTE F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Abel Henric hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcial Abechuco to strike the kick off in the second half. German Platon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Abechuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Ricardo Todor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amadeo Tipi during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bazan FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Amadeo Tipi hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bazan FC's zone, Marcial Abechuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. German Platon came out of the goal and Marcial Abechuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Emenon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. INDEPENDIENTE F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bazan FC the free kick. In the 58th minute, Arnaldo Emenon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gustavo Naelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Ricardo Todor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Platon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pastor Belarmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 84 minutes, Ricardo Todor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INDEPENDIENTE F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Todor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute of the match, Pastor Belarmo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Moises Maju was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marcial Abechuco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
