Nicasio Claude's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laureano Kepa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Fausto Quinteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Quinteros in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rudolf Martinsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nicasio Claude fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Kepa having to interfere. When Emilian Şimonca came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Sheffield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilian Şimonca couldn't finish the play. Emilian Şimonca might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laureano Kepa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilian Şimonca ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Baltasar Dalmau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calvo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltasar Dalmau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Martinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Fliz in the 29th minute of play forced Sheffield's goalkeeper Rudolf Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rudolf Martinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Quinteros in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Crispo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Romeo Fliz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rudolf Martinsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nicasio Claude managed to get in a good position for a shot. A beautiful save bye Sheffield's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Conrado Crispo sped through Calvo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Laureano Kepa. In the 84th minute Nicasio Claude shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laureano Kepa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
