In the 3rd minute of the match Benjamin Pere sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amado Txatxu skillfully saved the ball. Zeledon Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Txatxu having to interfere. Hermengildo Chucho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Ayala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Luisito Columbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Ayala having to interfere. Ramiro Quinten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Amado Txatxu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amado Txatxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Chayo in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Zeledon Chayo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amado Txatxu was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Ripamonti's Amado Txatxu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ripamonti from getting a goal against them. Alvaro Tipi's late challenge caught a Barcelona FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvaro Tipi helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Ripamonti got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Tipi. Ramiro Quinten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro Quinten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Ripamonti's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Chayo came free, but Amado Txatxu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ripamonti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gabriel Kaxen was slow to take the kick. During this time Barcelona FC's players had a chance to rest. Barcelona FC's Gabriel Kaxen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amado Txatxu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Iker Ayala came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ripamonti's Luisito Columbo. But to his dismay, Luisito Columbo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Ramiro Quinten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45th play minutes Zeledon Chayo shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Amado Txatxu and just under the crossbar into goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Hermengildo Chucho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ripamonti getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Alvaro Tipi hit a great ball. Zeledon Chayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amado Txatxu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zeledon Chayo ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramiro Quinten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Amado Txatxu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Barcelona FC booed when Ripamonti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofilo Gagriel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Chayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amado Txatxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Chayo in the 67th minute of play. Zeledon Chayo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amado Txatxu having to make a save. Amado Txatxu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Chayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermengildo Chucho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Iker Ayala made a huge save. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ripamonti! When Ripamonti's Luisito Columbo in the 99th minute got a chance for a shot 99th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barcelona FC's goalie prevented a goal.
