After a defensive mix-up in Raíces's zone, Augusto Isias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabricio Burni came out of the goal and Augusto Isias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Bartoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Raíces's goalkeeper Fabricio Burni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Isias. In the 12th minute Ciro Bartoli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raíces's Genaro Baleren suffered a fractured collar bone after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Mauricio Fanuco charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauricio Fanuco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Raíces booed when Club Altetico San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauricio Fanuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Sarracino hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. A collision led to Raíces getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Rodolfo Rocendo hit a great ball. Augusto Isias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Fabricio Burni when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fabricio Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Bartoli in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Raíces was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Rocendo to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Ciro Bartoli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeronimo Jenaro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Augusto Isias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Fabricio Burni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Olando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Ledesma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Olando, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ciro Bartoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Olando in the 46th minute of play forced Club Altetico San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Martin Ledesma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciro Bartoli was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rodolfo Rocendo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Raíces defense, Ciro Bartoli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabricio Burni. The Raíces fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabricio Burni should have stopped the shot. When Jeronimo Jenaro fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raíces's protests and gave Jeronimo Jenaro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd minute, Jeronimo Jenaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Club Altetico San Lorenzo's Isaias Derwin tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Augusto Isias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Burni having to interfere. If Jeronimo Jenaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 78 minutes, Ciro Bartoli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Altetico San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Bartoli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabricio Burni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Isias in the 80th minute of the match. If Augusto Isias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Isias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Burni having to interfere. In the 97th play minute Jeronimo Jenaro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Martin Ledesma. 1-1. The Raíces players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Club Altetico San Lorenzo from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
