The referee ignored juventud centenario's protests and gave Eugenio Guerrero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Eugenio Guerrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Botello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 played minutes juventud centenario got a freekick which was hit by Godofredo Alonso. Leopoldo Romo made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Niceto Soin sent off a good shot on target. juventud centenario's Eduardo Celino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Sarracino in the 34th minute of play. Ovidio Emeterio fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 40th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Eduardo Celino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Sarracino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of juventud centenario booed when Club Mercedes Corrientes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justino Lamberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. juventud centenario's Teofilo Incendio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 45th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Leopoldo Romo but with some difficulty. juventud centenario's Eugenio Guerrero got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eloy Sarracino made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eloy Sarracino during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Club Mercedes Corrientes got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Sarracino. In the 59th minute, Ovidio Emeterio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Mercedes Corrientes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Club Mercedes Corrientes played a much better game than juventud centenario and deserved their victory. The juventud centenario players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
