In the 21st minute Eugenio Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Santo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, System of a Down's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Guerrero came free, but Leo Santo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ambrosio Leizarraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Figueroa hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Simon Jerano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Eugenio Guerrero fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Niceto Soin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half System of a Down were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugenio Guerrero to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Eugenio Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot. juventud centenario's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Guerrero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Santo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, juventud centenario's Erasmo Mendiko got a free kick in the 55th minute. After 66 played minutes System of a Down got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Galindo. 67 minutes into the match, System of a Down's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Guerrero came free, but Leo Santo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ubaldo Laurendi's late challenge caught a juventud centenario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ubaldo Laurendi helped the player get up and apologised. Ubaldo Laurendi kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Eugenio Guerrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Santo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Guerrero in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Eugenio Guerrero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ubaldo Laurendi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 87 minutes had been played. In the 88th minute, Ubaldo Laurendi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Teofilo Incendio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and System of a Down's Leo Santo didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Guerrero in the 93rd minute of play forced System of a Down's goalkeeper Leo Santo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The juventud centenario supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching System of a Down's performance. The match ended with a win for System of a Down.
