Simon Jerano took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bela Torcida. Bela Torcida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 6th match minute, Morenillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Afonso to maneuver through the defense. System of a Down's Leo Santo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save System of a Down from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Morenillo's Maximo Gutxi got a free kick in the 14th minute. If Mauro Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Morenillo's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Gustau came free, but Bela Torcida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Martino in the 44th minute of play forced System of a Down's goalkeeper Leo Santo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Medina who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Leo Santo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Leandro Martino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Leo Santo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Gustau made a kick off. Leo Santo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Medina in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Martino in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leo Santo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute Gerardo Videl suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 58 played minutes System of a Down got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Ignado. When Mauro Medina came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Morenillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Medina couldn't finish the play. Gabriel Gustau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Santo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morenillo. After having played for 97 minutes, Gabriel Gustau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. System of a Down's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Gustau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
