The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Islas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Naunauco FC:s goal. In the 4th minute there was a penalty for Naunauco FC. Paolo Maule stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Guaberto Gonza. 0-1. Paulo Ixona's late challenge caught a Islas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Ixona helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Naunauco FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Paulo Ixona hit a great ball. The supporters of Naunauco FC booed when Islas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Lore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naunauco FC's Joel Ikatz got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guaberto Gonza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Ixona in the 11th minute of the match. Joel Ikatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Ixona in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guaberto Gonza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Naunauco FC's Arnaldo Iliana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Naunauco FC from getting a goal against them. Ildefonso Florinio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Joel Ikatz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Domingos Primo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ildefonso Florinio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Arnaldo Iliana made a huge save. After the first half Naunauco FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Ixona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Islas got a freekick which was hit by Bernardino Garikoitz. 60 minutes into the match, Paulo Ixona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guaberto Gonza. Islas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Ixona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Islas's Javier Gervaso got a free kick in the 64th minute. Guaberto Gonza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Ixona in the 66th minute of the match. Joel Ikatz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Guaberto Gonza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Joel Ikatz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Iliana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Florinio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guaberto Gonza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Ixona, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Guaberto Gonza made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Damian Rioja sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Islas booed when Naunauco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Bela didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Ikatz got free with Guaberto Gonza in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Islas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Naunauco FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Naunauco FC.
