Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lino Sotero, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aurelio Pacho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th play minute Aldo Asteri came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lino Sotero. 1-0. A collision led to Huanguelén FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ceferino Sotero hit a great ball. Marcelino Mincho struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Anacleto Chinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elena. Niceto Bortzaioriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anacleto Chinto having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Marcelino Mincho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Mincho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelino Mincho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Anacleto Chinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Elena getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Saverio Giro hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Apolo Handi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lino Sotero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Pascual Daunte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elena's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascual Daunte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anacleto Chinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelino Mincho might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anacleto Chinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelino Mincho ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aurelio Pacho made a kick off. Lino Sotero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Pacho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Huanguelén FC's goalkeeper Anacleto Chinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelino Mincho. Huanguelén FC's Anacleto Chinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Bortzaioriz in the 59th minute of play. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, Elena's Saverio Giro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Anacleto Chinto. Marcelino Mincho scored 1-2 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anacleto Chinto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Aurelio Pacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niceto Bortzaioriz might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anacleto Chinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Bortzaioriz ran back to his position shaking his head. Elena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huanguelén FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Elena's Natalio Vargas got a free kick in the 98th minute. Elena's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
