If Jimeno Montxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, Ceferino Sotero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huanguelén FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Islas the free kick. The supporters of Islas booed when Huanguelén FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Sotero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Domingos Primo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Huanguelén FC's Anacleto Chinto didn't even have to move. Ildefonso Florinio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anacleto Chinto having to interfere. With a little luck, Huanguelén FC's Anacleto Chinto got control of the ball when Ildefonso Florinio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Islas were furious when Damian Avellaneda was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Islas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Guaberto Gonza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aurelio Pacho went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Pacho in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guaberto Gonza prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ildefonso Florinio was the one to do the kick off. When Islas's Ildefonso Florinio in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Huanguelén FC's goalie prevented a goal. Bernardino Garikoitz hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Apolo Handi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Guaberto Gonza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Pacho in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Islas's zone, Aldo Asteri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Gonza came out of the goal and Aldo Asteri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ildefonso Florinio struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Anacleto Chinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Islas. Anacleto Chinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ildefonso Florinio in the 66th minute of the match. Aldo Asteri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Gonza having to interfere. Islas's Guaberto Gonza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Pacho in the 73rd minute of play. Aldo Asteri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Guaberto Gonza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaberto Gonza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Pacho in the 78th minute of the match. Islas's Ildefonso Florinio got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ildefonso Florinio in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anacleto Chinto saved Huanguelén FC from getting behind. The Huanguelén FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
