The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Rodrigo Calisto came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Islas fans jumped to their feet. In the 19th minute, one of Xeneizes del Oeste:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Xeneizes del Oeste. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Islas. Lázaro Mitxel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Santo Asier. 1-1. Isaac Ovando struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Santo Asier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Islas. Islas's Isaac Ovando got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donato Ugutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Amadeo Ihintza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, Islas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcial Terciero to maneuver through the defense. When Damaso Otsoko came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Islas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Otsoko couldn't finish the play. If Rodrigo Calisto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Isaac Ovando made the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Calisto struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Santo Asier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Islas. Santo Asier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Ovando in the 53rd minute of the match. Rodrigo Calistos short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Santo Asier to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Santo Asier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isaac Ovando went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Xeneizes del Oeste's Santo Asier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Ovando in the 60th minute of play. Santo Asier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Calisto in the 63rd minute. Amadeo Ihintza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Ugutz in the 65th minute of play. Santo Asier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Ovando, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The Xeneizes del Oeste fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Islas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
