Spectators: 7165 (Terracing: 5446, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amancio Gimenez kicked off to start the match. Arnoldo Ignatius did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Nicasio Ederono 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mencué's zone, Arnoldo Ignatius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicasio Ederono came out of the goal and Arnoldo Ignatius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xeneize's Arnoldo Ignatius got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicasio Ederono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Nevada in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Celedonio Inge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celedonio Inge lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 34 minutes into the match, Xeneize's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Gimenez came free, but Victorino Bakar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnoldo Ignatius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Mencué getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Zeledon Vergaray hit a great ball. Arnoldo Ignatius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicasio Ederono read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Santiago Ubelteso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Victorino Bakar made a huge save. After 62 played minutes Mencué got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Gimenez. In the 63rd match minute, Xeneize was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugenio Cordaro to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute of the match Ovidio Izotz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victorino Bakar skillfully saved the ball. After 72 played minutes Mencué got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Izotz. A collision led to Mencué getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Benito Eate hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnoldo Ignatius in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicasio Ederono prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Figueroa hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. A collision led to Mencué getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Amancio Gimenez hit a great ball. The supporters of Mencué booed when Xeneize was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uriel Nevada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santiago Ubelteso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Victorino Bakar made a huge save. Victorino Bakar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Gimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Arnoldo Ignatius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
