Fabricio Jesco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Gimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabricio Jesco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santiago Ubelteso in the 17th minute. If Maximino Lucila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximino Lucila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nicasio Ederono tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Amancio Gimenez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fabricio Jesco. Amancio Gimenez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Lonquimay's Maximino Lucila got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Lonquimay's Bartolo Guillelme sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Ederono narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Desiderio Chinto put in a rough tackle. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lonquimay! Lonquimay's Fabricio Jesco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Lonquimay from getting a goal against them. After 47 played minutes Lonquimay got a freekick which was hit by Silverio Jaume. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amancio Gimenez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabricio Jesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Gimenez, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Ciro Laurgain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lonquimay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Laurgain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Gimenez in the 59th minute of play forced Lonquimay's goalkeeper Fabricio Jesco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Ciro Laurgain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lonquimay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 63rd match minute, Lonquimay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Guillelme to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Gimenez in the 66th minute of play forced Lonquimay's goalkeeper Fabricio Jesco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciro Laurgain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. In the 90th minute Amancio Gimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Jesco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amancio Gimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lonquimay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Mencué had won, even though Lonquimay had held more of the ball.
