Santiago Ubelteso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Cecilio Cesario when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Godfredo Pedroso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Santiago Ubelteso came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Mencué fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santiago Ubelteso couldn't finish the play. After 76 played minutes Pepo-Papo y Pompis AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Urtsin. Amancio Gimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Cecilio Cesario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cecilio Cesario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Gimenez, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Santiago Ubelteso might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cecilio Cesario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santiago Ubelteso ran back to his position shaking his head. Santiago Ubelteso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pepo-Papo y Pompis AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
