But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dante Jakes couldn't finish the play. When Arsenio Lizardi fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Castro's protests and gave Arsenio Lizardi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Deportivo Castro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Lizardi to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute of the match Venancio Tajo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isidoro Medardo skillfully saved the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isidoro Medardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the match, Rancul AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Oxel came free, but Serafino Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Deportivo Castro's Oscar Sein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Serafino Niva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Serafino Niva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Sein, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dante Jakes made a kick off. During the 59th minute of the match Arsenio Lizardi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Arsenio Lizardi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dante Jakes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delmar Pirro took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isidoro Medardo. Isidoro Medardo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Delmar Pirro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Isidoro Medardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute Matias Veronica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Medardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Jakes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
