Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the game, Anderson FC's Matias Mero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lázaro Maju made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natalio Goi during the 22nd minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valentin Guillelme made a kick off. Anderson FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentin Guillelme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 70 minutes into the match, Anderson FC's Rogelio Gonzalez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lázaro Maju narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aurelio Osoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Gonzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Matias Mero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anderson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Mero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Rustico F.C's Lázaro Maju got control of the ball when Rogelio Gonzalez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Matias Mero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rustico F.C's goalkeeper Lázaro Maju, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Anderson FC's zone, Valentin Guillelme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Osoitz came out of the goal and Valentin Guillelme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matias Mero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Maju read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Anderson FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Anderson FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
